Passionate about more inclusive technology and finance.
Katja Toropainen is the founder and CEO at Inklusiiv, where she helps leaders and teams build the human skills that performance actually depends on: communication, collaboration, trust, and the ability to navigate differences without losing momentum.
Based in Finland and working internationally, Inklusiiv partners with tech companies, scale-ups and international organisations to turn these skills into measurable capability. The approach is facilitative: Katja and her team believe people have more answers than they think, and that the right conditions unlock them.
Inklusiiv started in diversity and inclusion, and that foundation still shapes the company's thinking. But the conversation has moved on, and so has Inklusiiv. Today, the focus is on the practical complexity of working well together, especially in international teams and as AI reshapes what work looks like.
Before Inklusiiv, Katja was Chief Curator on the leadership team at Slush, one of Europe's leading startup and tech events, where she closely followed global startup, technology and venture capital trends across Europe and the US. She has also worked in management consulting and financial services, and invested through the Atomico Angel Programme.
That background means Inklusiiv approaches people development the way businesses think: what's the problem, what's getting in the way, and what gets results.
Katja is a keynote speaker on leadership, cultural intelligence, and the future of teamwork, and has spoken to audiences ranging from Nordic tech communities to Fortune 500 organisations in Latin America.
Katja holds an MSc from Aalto University School of Business, with additional studies in engineering and arts at Aalto. She is a six-time Tivi Top 100 IT Influencer in Finland, and was recognised as one of the 100 most influential figures in the Nordic startup and technology scene by the Nordic Web.
